This is all to do with Yahoo not being prepared to maintain the product it bought.

Yahoo bought this product which was a platform for free expression. They assured us that they would not change it or censor it. 

Someone comes and abuses it and uploads child abuse shit because of course they do. What so Tumblr is not prepared?. They didn’t think they should have a way to combat that?

Apple pulls the plug, and now Tumblr amputates entire worlds of content in order to mitigate those abusers and please Apple. That’s the only positivity they give a fuck about. Their inclusion in the app store.

Their algorithm is flagging art of mine that isn’t even nsfw. What is this site even doing?

I think even if they backpedal now and say “oops just kidding guyz” * the damage has been done. People are packing their shit and moving on out.

hmmm this year has been quite a shit show (but admittedly better than some ive had in the past) but damn if i’m not happy to have a toxic as fuck person out of my life 

psa friends if someone who you’ve stuck your neck out for multiple times (including pretty much saving their life on multiple occasions - i know this sounds fake but trust me its very real and im still pretty fucked up by it) and they cut all ties with you because of a simple miscommunication over text, they’re probably not worth your time. at all. stay safe out there
